Accounting Principals is working with a prestigious and stable non-profit organization to fill a temporary-to-permanent Budget Analyst job in New York, NY. This position offers the ability to make an immediate impact on an organization with a great mission. The perfect match would have previous experience within the non-profit sector, but feel free to apply if you do not. We are primarily looking for someone with strong budgeting and forecasting experience.

Please note, this position will be remote to start. The organization has a goal of transitioning to a hybrid schedule over the next few months. 


What will a "day in the life" of the Budget Analyst look like?

  • Conducting monthly budget reviews for various divisions (with multiple cost centers) within the company
  • Working with accounts payable team to analyze departmental expenses and forecast upcoming expenditures
  • Analyzing monthly, quarterly, and annual spending trends; Using Excel to analyze expenses and present to upper management
  • Performing budget vs actual analysis and analyzing variances. Attempting to resolve variances with departments and finance team.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Strong Excel skills including pivot tables and vlookups
  • Great communication skills, both written and verbal
