Accounting Principals is partnered with an excellent client of ours in the restaurant industry. Our client owns several successful and well known restaurants within Chicago. They are seeking a skilled Bookkeeper who is able to work in a fast paced environment and able to travel to different locations.

Role: Bookkeeper
Industry: Restaurant 
Type: Contract /Contract to Hire
Location: Chicago, IL - Hybrid, will have to travel between properties
Hours: 9AM to 5PM 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Meets weekly financial deadlines
  • Processes invoices on a daily basis
  • Prepares and distributes biweekly accounts receivable statements to customers
  • Reviews, processes and deposits payments from customers
  • Reconciles vendor statements
  • Negotiates past due balances with outside vendors and customers
  • Processes check runs weekly for accounts payable
  • Maintains accurate accounting reports for AP and AR
  • Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and takes prompt corrective action where necessary
  • Adheres to all company safety and sanitation policies and procedures
  • Assists other team members as needed or when business needs dictates
  • Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills):

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent experience required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in accounts payable and receivable required
  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude; Microsoft 365 (including Excel) and Google Suite
