Billing Auditor

Billing Auditors are responsible for the preparation and auditing of customer billing.  This position is also responsible for accurate and timely submission of customer price increases.  The hours and level of responsibility may vary.


This position is Temp to hire



  • Perform job duties in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.
  • Prepare invoices for assigned customers that have special billing requirements
  • Receive and respond professionally and courteously to all internal and external customer inquiries.
  • Work in conjunction with other departments to resolve billing issues.
  • Month end journal entries.
  • Month end explanations for why there are variances in revenues.
  • Input all residential price increases prior to billing.
  • Perform file transfers.
  • Create and post sales adjustments for write offs and customer refunds.
  • Audit assigned auto charge templates prior to billing and residential price increases.
  • Audit Cycle Change Report.
  • Audit Unapplied Cash Report daily.
  • Research and approve refund request.
  • Research and transfer payment request.
  • Review accounts that have payment terms for sales discounts.
  • Process customers credits for the markets that are in excess of $1000.
  • Serve as backup to others in the department.
  • Assist with special projects as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Must possess a professional demeanor and telephone etiquette.
  • Excellent verbal & written communications skills.
  • Must be organized and detail oriented with the ability to multi-task.
  • Possess proven analytical/problem solving solutions for the customer and the company.
  • Computer proficiency
  • Must have accounting knowledge.
  • Must possess excellent customer service and data entry skills.
  • Must work efficiently and effectively, both independently and as a team.
  • Ability to identify issues, make decisions, and resolve problems.
  • Must be able to react well under pressure and treat others with respect.
  • Waste industry experience a plus.
  • Ability to work occasional overtime, weekends and/or holidays.
