A modern and trendy company in Diamond Bar's prestigious Gateway Center is looking for a Benefits Customer Service Representative to add to the growing team.  Our client specializes in providing benefits to emerging companies throughout Southern CA.  The ideal candidate would be Customer Centric, enjoy learning and growing benefit knowledge, is consultative, and enjoys providing options that make the difference in cost and services for medical insurance product.
The ideal candidate would have at least one year's experience in consulting on health care options and benefit plans with enrollees.  On a full time basis our client provides exceptional medical, dental, and insurance benefits.  They offer generous time off, luncheons, team time, and flexible hours to meet the needs of their employees busy schedules!
An average day in this position would include:

  • Process all ongoing enrollments, changes to enrollment, terminations, and COBRA for insurance policies
  • On a daily basis will review insurance applications to ensure that all questions have been answered and follow up with enrollees to gather additional information needed
  • Update client roster of insured employees and associated cost per employee
  • Fast paced and constant inbound and outbound calls averaging 60 per day
  • Nimble fingers are required to document all calls, insurance selections, follow up, and emails as needed
  • Must be detailed and accurate in documenting insurance product selections and creating enrollee files
Process, prepare, and submit business or government forms, such as submitting applications for coverage to insurance carriers
Process and record new insurance policies and claims
Correspond with insured or agent to obtain information or inform them of account status or changes
Review and verify data, such as age, name, address, and principal sum and value of property on insurance applications and policies
Send confirmation of all tasks to clients
Verify plan name, effective dates and coverage statuses of all applications
Follow-up according to company policies and procedures
Answer telephones to direct calls or provide information
Data entry
Prepare business correspondence
1-2 years of customer service experience
1-2 years of Insurance related experience preferred
Medical terminology and/or group life insurance benefits knowledge is preferred
High School Diploma or greater
Must have proficient technical skills with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
CMS software experience is a plus
