Accounting Principals is partnering with a Large Professional Services Company in Western Suffolk County to fill a Staff Accounting Role. Position requires a degree in Accounting or Finance.
Organizes and maintains the company's business records through preparation of journal entries, reports, and detailed analysis of accounts. Associate Accountants are entry-level professionals learning the basic functions of the job role. They receive general instruction on expected work outcomes and use professional education to identify, analyze and resolve issues and interpret company policy.
Responsibilities include the following:
Prepares journal entries and performs account reconciliations or other financial analysis of medium complexity.
Identifies account variances, researches discrepancies, and determines corrective courses of action.
Prepares support documents for internal and external auditors.
Performs system testing for upgrades and enhancements to financial systems.
May evaluate shared service center accounting processes and suggest opportunities for improvement.
Advanced Excel skills – Pivots and V-lookups
Experience with SAP or Oracle a plus.
Long term temp assignment and can pay upwards of $28 an hour.
