Assistant Controller

Accounting Principals is looking to fill an Assistant Controller job opportunity for this growing East Bay company located in San Leandro, CA. The right candidate should have at least 7 to 10 years of experience in a senior level accounting position preferably within manufacturing. The candidate will report to the Vice President of Finance and be very hands on managing all the accounting for a small business providing all the financial records for the company. 

Responsibilities:

- Preparation of financial statements and producing weekly and monthly financial reports

- Provide reporting on the P&L and Balance Sheet

- Manage the general ledger and handle account reconciliations

- Maintain the inventory and fixed assets depreciation schedules

- Develop new reports, create efficiencies, and establish best practices

- Analyze and forecast the business and assist with overall business plan

- Assist CFO and VP of Finance on ad-hoc projects

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required and a CPA preferred

- Manufacturing industry experience Industry experience preferred

- Strong technical accounting experience and a thoroughness with GAAP

- Software experience with Quickbooks

- Attention to detail, problem-solver, and analytical

- Excellent communication skills (written & verbal)  

- Advanced Excel skills and overall comfortability with Microsoft Office

Experience: 7 to 10 years of experience (Senior Accountant, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager)

Compensation: $110,000 – $130,000
