Are you well versed in everything accounts receivable, and are looking to take your career to the next level? Our manufacturing client in Schaumburg, IL is looking to add an Accounts Receivable Clerk to their team immediately. This will be a 2-3 month assignment and it will be fully onsite. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude and enjoy taking initiative. To qualify, you must have at least 5 years of Accounts Receivable experience and proficient knowledge of SAP and Excel including pivot tables and VLOOKUP’s.  

Responsibilities Include:

  • Managing AR balances and accounts to clear and reduce delinquency by sending out monthly customer statements and working with Customer Care to escalate customer disputes.
  • Cash Application, offsets, and GL transactions to A/R on accounts
  • Working with large and small accounts and customer portals
  • Researching and reconciling customer payments to clear deductions related to contracts and agreements, maintaining accuracy for Accounting.
  • Building and fostering relationships with Customer Care, Supply Chain & Logistics, as well as Shipping / Receiving department.
  • Knowing when to escalate more serious past due accounts with Customer Care & Executive Management
  • Drive weekly AR meetings with Customer Care and run weekly AR aging reports (via Excel)
  • Familiar with when to hold and release orders and systematically make it happen in SAP
  • Research and resolve customer inquiries, provide invoice copies and statements
  • Reconcile accounts according to how they pay or how they are invoiced and be proactive in managing A/R so it does not become past due
  • Communicate potential issues, concerns, and updates to Manager
  • Continuous follow up internally and externally, to close out issues independently to make certain they are resolved
  • Credit review (references and credit reports), reviewing credit limits and determine action
  • Serve as a back-up to the AP Specialist

    Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proficient working knowledge with SAP R3 and/or SAP HANA and running reports
  • Proficient working knowledge in Excel, Outlook, Microsoft Teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Fast learner with proven abilities to problem-solve
  • Able to work independently but also be a team player, with drive and dedication to get work done quickly and accurately
  • Positive attitude towards changing work environments and can-do spirit
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills, knowing how and when to prioritize
  • Able to use sound logic to make and support decisions
  • Willingness to continuously learn and some curiosity to want to know how things work
  • Detail-oriented, knowing how to approach complex issues and follow through until resolved
  • Ability to breakdown and categorize issues on accounts
  • Ability to document and create job aids when necessary
  • Willing to make proposals for process improvements
  • Know what needs to get done but also bring issues or concerns to Manager
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role
