Accounting Principals is working with a company in Chicago in search for an AP Specialist. The AP specialist will be responsible for the timely and accurate processing of all invoices ranging from food and restaurant specific invoices to employee reimbursements. This person will also be responsible for data entry, validation, and vendor payments. This is a direct hire position that is 100% onsite. Salary is up to $55k.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Process the accounts payable invoices
  • Properly code and input invoices received from vendors
  • Work with invoices from multiple restaurants and vendors simultaneously
  • Review and analyze invoices for reasonableness and accuracy
  • Review open A/P to determine what should be paid on the weekly check run
  • Coordinate A/P related procedures and expectations with restaurant contacts
  • Perform month-end closing activities, including preparation of various journal entries and period-end accruals.
  • Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations monthly.
  • Prepare bank and credit card reconciliations monthly.
  • Issue daily bank balance projection to management.
  • Maintain all business licensing documents, making sure all entities are current.
  • Perform special projects, as required, to assist the department and the Company in achieving its goals and objectives.

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent work experience.
  • Two years of full cycle accounting experience preferred.
  • R365 experience strongly preferred.
  • Restaurant industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills are required.  
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks and work within strict deadlines.
  • Solution-oriented problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage time and prioritize work effectively.
  • Ability to take initiative.
