AML/BSA Specialist – Seattle, WA

Accounting Principals is looking for a Global Trade OFAC Specialist for one of our clients in Seattle, WA. This position is to be performed on site.


  • Assist with screening a portfolio of Corporate clients
  • Reviewing documents and inputting data into a data base while maintaining performance measures and quality improvements against established OFAC sanctions guidelines
  • Must remain objective and actively engaged in tracking and compiling; research, exception processing, data entry, record keeping, and/or data maintenance and avoid inherent conflicts of interest that may hinder and effective compliance program
  • The role with serve as second reviewer for OFAC compliance, independently reviewing, entering, and comparing information or entries and performing additional research for management review
  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelors’ degree or equivalent work experience
  • 2-3 years of experience in regulatory compliance activities, preferably in security, fraud, anti-money laundering and/or financial services
  • Identify repetitive false hits and amend entries as needed
  • Ability to review documentation and handle transactions held for sanction related matches
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Good knowledge of regulatory practices in AML, OFAC and sanctions and local laws
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Analytical and deductive reasoning skills
  • Prior banking or compliance/regulatory experience preferred
  • Strong computer skills including access, Word, Excel
  • Basic knowledge of operations, products/services, systems, and risks/controls applicable to assigned area
  • Well-develop analytical skills
