Accountant- Accounts Receivable

Accounting Principals is actively seeking an Accountant who will primarily focus on accounts receivable and collections for a growing company in the Maryland area. This is an awesome opportunity that offers a competitive salary and a collaborative working environment. This is a full-time, direct-hire position.

Responsibilities:

· Allocates revenues and posts to the appropriate ledger accounts

· Timely reconciles cash application

· Research and process invoice adjustment requests

· Reconcile general ledger accounts associated to Receivables

· Prepare write-off, discounts with approval from manager

· Maintain cash receipts journal and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L

· Posts payments by recording cash, checks from lockbox, wire payments and credit card       transactions

· Prepare AR aging reports and filing

· Reviews and verifies the accuracy of revenues reported to Accounts Receivables

· Cross train with A/P Responsibilities

· Research and resolves any discrepancies associated with the receivables

· Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

· Bachelors Degree in Accounting/Fianace 

· 2+ years of Accounts Receivable experience

· Knowledge of computer accounting programs

· Previous ERP Experience is highly preferred

· Clear understanding of collections due process

· Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts

· Administrative skills including data entry

· Strong attention to detail
