Accounting Principals is actively recruiting for an Accounts Receivable Specialist for a direct hire position located on the north side of Indianapolis. The Accounts Receivable Specialist oversees the accounts receivable function of the accounting department. This role also serves as an auditor, ensuring invoices are accurate and that proper accounting procedures are following as necessary for the accounting department to function.

Responsibilities:

  • Follow-up, collection, and allocation of payments received from customers.
  • Carry-out collection and reporting activities according to specific deadlines.
  • Researches and solves payment discrepancies. Monitor customer account detail for non-payments, delayed payments, and any other potential irregularities.
  • Maintain accounts receivable customer files and accounts.
  • Perform reconciliation of accounts, including preparation and analysis of accounts receivable aging reports, over/under reports, and monthly debit/credit invoices and reports on open contract pricing.
  • Follow established procedures for processing receipts, cash, etc. including banking activities and reconciliation.
  • Investigate and resolve customer queries.
  • Process adjustments, manual invoices, credit and debit memos.
  • Communicate with customers, sales personnel and other departments via phone, email, mail or in person.
  • Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field, preferred
  • Minimum of two years of prior AR experience
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Impeccable attention to detail
