Accounts Receivable Specialist (Naperville, IL)



Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for managing customer accounts, reconciling transactions, monitoring credit terms and collaborating with internal and external customers at various levels. Initiate appropriate actions and recording collections activities. Comply with departmental & company policies and procedures to ensure that goals are met.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Research and resolve past due invoices on customer accounts
  • Recognize trends on customers’ accounts and make adjustments to prevent invoices from going past due
  • Review often each day customers orders in credit holds and determine actions to release efficiently
  • Understand credit terms and notify Analyst if credit limits should be adjusted 
  • Collaborate with customers via phone, e-mail, etc. in order to resolve issues on accounts
  • Accessing, examining and extracting data from customer web portals
  • Enter comments to record collection activities
  • Receive and apply payments to accounts via ACH, Check or Wire 


  • High school diploma required
  • Associates or bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of Accounts Receivable or related experience required, preferably within a distribution company and/or manufacturing 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail required
  • Strong technical abilities
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel and Outlook) required
  • Experience with customer web portals
  • Strong problem-solving skills, able to resolve disputes professionally and timely
  • Ability to create and foster relationships, we're looking for a People-Person!  But also has to enjoy working with numbers too 

    This is a full-time, hourly paid position, working Monday through Friday and offers comprehensive benefit plans to include medical, dental, vision, 401K plans, life insurance, and more.
