Accounting Principals is looking to fill an Accounting Assistant job opportunity for this East Bay company located in Oakland, CA. This position is hybrid working in-office and remote. The right candidate should have at least 3 years of experience in accounts payable and have general accounting experience with bank reconciliations and accounts receivable.



- Process accounts payable handling a weekly check run (set up new vendors (W-9’s), code to the proper account, prepare 1099’s)

- Review contracts, maintain insurance certificates, lien releases, and ensure costs are within budget

- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and assist with the audit

- Prepare monthly billing to tenants and review AR aging reports and follow-up accordingly

- Assist with the loan draws

- Assist department on special; projects as assigned



- Associates Degree required, but a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred

- Solid knowledge of accounting and knowing your general accounting debits and credits (GAAP)

- Software experience with Yardi highly preferred

- Industry experience within real estate or construction

- Solid full cycle Accounts Payable experience

- Able to work independently, take initiative, and be self-motivated

- Accurate, detailed, efficient, a multi-tasker, and strong time management skills

- Strong communications both written and verbal  

- Comfortable with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & Outlook)


Experience: 3 years of accounting experience (AP Specialist, Accounting Assistant/Clerk, Staff Accountant)

Compensation: $29.00 – $33.00
