Accounting Principals is partnering with a rapidly growing Biotech company to identify an individual for a contract to hire Accounts Payable Specialist role in San Diego, CA. To qualify for this role, you must have a minimum of three years of full-cycle accounts payable experience, and strong Excel skills. The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for owning the accounts payable process, participating in month-end close, and year-end audit.

 

Accounts Payable Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Own the accounts payable process in a timely manner
  • Respond to inquires from vendors and resolve issues with invoices
  • Manage vendor files including W-9 information
  • Prepare Purchase Orders, processing and tracking
  • Process vendor invoices including coding and data entry
  • Audit vendor invoices and prepare various ad hoc reports for management
  • Prepare and process accounts payable journal entries
  • Reconcile accounts payable monthly and assist with accruals
  • Participate in month-end close
  • Prepare year-end form 1099
  • Process employee expense reports
  • Back-up of payroll when needed
  •  

    Qualifications:

  • 2 or 4 year degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of three years of accounts payable experience
  • Experience with NetSuite is a plus
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel
  • Biotechnology or similar industry a plus
  • 3-way matching experience
