Accounting Principals is seeking an Accounts Payable/ Payroll Coordinator for a full-time, direct hire position with a client in Richmond, VA. This position is hybrid.


  • Ensure invoices are accurately coded and properly approved.
  • Prepare and cut checks, bank transfers and/or ACH transactions weekly or more frequently, as needed.
  • Accurately process employee payroll by established deadlines.
  • Ensure timesheets and leave requests are accurate and that appropriate approvals are in place.
  • Reconcile monthly credit card activity.
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Maintain organized AP files, filing daily as needed.
  • Support requests from other United Way departments and programs.
  • Provide assistance, schedules, and support for annual external audit.
  • Provide back-up support to receptionist on a shared, rotating basis.
  • Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; BS/BA degree in Accounting or related field or equivalent accounting experience preferred.
  • 1 to 3 years of accounts payable and payroll experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet scheduled deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written.
  • Compensation: $40-45K/yr perm
