Accounting Principals is currently seeking a permanent part time (30 hours/week) Accounts Payable Coordinator for a client in the Ashland, VA 23005. This is a newly created role, and will require you to be on-site. The main elements of this role are to maintain trustful relationships with insurance companies and individual clients, while guaranteeing timely payments. This position is primarily responsible for the processing of Accounts Payable invoices and payments and vendor record management.


  • Responsible for reviewing and processing vendor invoices using automated system and accounting software. Ensure proper approvals and documentation with purchaser and investigate any discrepancies between invoices and Purchase Orders.
  • Prepare and process weekly vendor payments using various programs.
  • Monthly Company Credit Card Statements-Ensure statements reach proper individual with receipts are returned with proper coding, and entered in system for payment prior to month end deadlines.
  • Responsible for reconciliation of monthly vendor statements ensuring outstanding invoices/credits received.
  • Respond to vendor inquiries via phone and email in timely manner.
  • Maintenance of existing vendor records and the setup of new vendors. Periodic review of vendors to ensure records are current and encourage payment via credit card or ACH/Wire.
  • Cross train in AR procedures to provide support and back up as needed for AR Coordinator.
  • Qualifications:

  • Minimum two years accounting experience.
  • Strong computer skills with a knack for technology.
  • Must possess excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Must possess excellent time management and attention to detail.
