I am working with a large food distribution company to identify an Accounting Supervisor that will be over the Payroll and the Master Data (not A/P or A/R). If you match up to the description below, please APPLY ASAP.

Accounting supervisor will be over Payroll and the Master Data (not A/P or A/R)

Salary 65-70K.

This position will focus on Payroll and the Master Data for our inventories at the various distribution centers.

  • Coordinates and assists in the completion of period closing activities, journal entries, reconciliation schedules, and analysis to ensure accuracy, thoroughness, and timeliness and to provide management with accurate and professional information. (30%)
  • Supervises the daily functions and activities of the accounting department to ensure that standards for accuracy, thoroughness, and timeliness are met. (25%)
  • Schedules, coordinates, and directs the workload of accounting staff to ensure that assignments are completed in accordance with established company policies and deadlines. (15%)
  • Updates various periodic or quarterly financial and operational reports for use by GSF corporate and local division. (10%)
  • Trains and develops accounting staff to ensure and maintain the required level of professional competence. (10%)
  • Assists in the coordination of the quarterly physical inventory process, researches variances, and assists in resolution of variances. (5%)
  • Participates in the annual budget process. (5%)
  • Performs other related and assigned duties as necessary.

  • Education/Certification:

    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Cost Accounting from an accredited college or university.

    3-6 years exp.

    • Generally accepted accounting principles
    • Supervisory concepts and techniques 
    • Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, General Ledger 
    • AS400 computing environment 
    • PC word-processing/spreadsheet software applications 
    • Inventory procedures 
    • Budgetary concepts and procedures 
    • 10-Key and other basic office equipment 
    • Relevant safety policies, practices and procedures
