Accounting Principals is partnering with a construction company that is looking to add an accounting professional to their team. You will be supporting the Project Accountants to handle billing and invoicing responsibilities. It would be helpful for the person stepping into this position to have at least a year of previous construction industry experience. Some billing or accounts payable experience would be helpful as well. Since you will be communicating with a variety of internal and external customers, professional communication skills are necessary. You need to be extremely organized and able to function with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Due to the amount of training necessary for this position, you need to be able to work in the office. The office is located in Portland. There is opportunity to promote internally within the company and this role will give you experience in a busy industry with a reputable company.

Main Tasks:

  • Reviewing contracts and setting up accounts correctly
  • Coding and processing invoices for payments
  • Updating and tracking vendor information
  • Posting payments to the correct account
  • Assisting with the budget for each project
  • Additional tasks as needed
  • Qualifications:

  • Over a year of accounting experience
  • Previous experience in the construction industry is desired
  • Professional communication skills
  • Able to function accurately in a high-volume environment
  • Ability to multi-task and track different deadlines
