Accounting Specialist


Our client in the Dayton Ohio area is looking to add an accounting specialist to their team on a temp to perm basis. 2+ years of recent accounting experience is required along with intermediate Microsoft Excel skills. Pay will depend on experience and education.



Responsibilities of this Accounting Specialist job include:

  • Support month-end close activities
  • Daily bank deposits and processing
  • Manage AP email box for handling and distribution
  • Post customer payments by recording cash, checks, credit card, and electronic transactions
  • Issue invoice corrections in accordance with company policy
  • Generate direct billing invoices and credit card billings in a timely manner
  • Process manual customer credit card payments
  • Prepare and post journal entries to record bank activity 
  • Ensure all transactions are posted correctly
  • Assist as needed in the activities of A/P and A/R
  • Ad hoc activities

    Minimum Requirements

  • 3+ years of accounting experience
  • Understanding of GAAP
  • Able to collaborate with a team and work independently
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated, proactive, willing to learn and teach
