Accounting Principals is partnering with a company in Suffolk County to fill an Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable position.

This is a temp to hire position with an immediate start.


Responsibilities include the following:


Accounts Receivable:

  • Cash receipt posting and application (mostly receive check payments in the mail, some ACH payments)
  • Preparing, reconciling, scanning, and posting the bank deposits with the bank scanner
  • Perform various administrative functions such as recording changes in customer information, and electronic filing and retrieval of documents in the accounting system
  • Monthly account reconciliation of the Miscellaneous receivable General Ledger account

    Accounts Payable:


  • Paying bills by either credit card, check, or ACH payment
  • Maintaining and reconciling the petty cash
  • Reconciling credit card monthly statement & getting receipts and approvals from management (putting the Amex package together)
  • Perform various administrative functions such as electronic filing and retrieval of documents in the accounting system
  • Maintain current payment status in accordance with vendor terms and review AP Aging weekly in order to prepare the weekly check run


  • Experience with Microsoft Great Plains a must
  • Minimum 2-year college degree in business related field
  • Basic Accounting knowledge
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong proficiency in computer applications such as MS Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint a plus but not necessary
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Ability to work well independently with strong organization skills
