Accounting Principals is seeking an Accounting & Payroll Assistant for our client located in central Indianapolis. This is a contract to hire opportunity with split duties of both accounting and payroll functions. The ideal candidate should have at least 1+ years of both accounting and payroll experience. Compensation for this position is $18/HR.
Job Duties:
Serve as a back-up and assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
Verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.
Maintains historical records by filing documents.
Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements
Performs payroll processing, tax reporting, and other payroll duties.
Minimum Requirements:
Minimum one year payroll and accounting experience in a similar size organization/company and/or equivalent combination of education/training/experience in payroll, accounting or finance.
Solid understanding of financial functions, federal and state wage and hour laws and regulations including those applicable to payroll, taxes, withholding, deductions and garnishments.
Requires technical proficiencies in use of databases and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
