Accounting Principals is looking to fill an Accounting Manager job opportunity for this well-established company located in Napa, CA. The right candidate should have at least 5 to 10 years of experience in a senior level accounting position preferably within the wine industry. The candidate will report to the Controller and be very hands on managing the general ledger, handling the annual close activities (month, quarter & year-end), financial reporting, analysis, and management and development of a staff. 



- Preparation of financial statements and producing weekly and monthly financial reports

- Manage the general ledger, prepare journal entries, and handle account reconciliations

- Provide reporting on the P&L and Balance Sheet

- Maintain the inventory and fixed assets depreciation schedules

- Assist with the preparation of the annual budget and forecasting

- Assist with the external audit and preparation of tax return

- Develop current and new reports, create efficiencies, and establish best practices

- Analyze and forecast the business and assist with overall business plan

- Assist on ad-hoc projects as assigned



- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required and a CPA preferred

- Wine industry experience preferred

- Strong technical accounting experience and a thoroughness with GAAP

- Supervision or management experience with at least 3 employees’

- Software experience with a medium to large ERP preferred

- Attention to detail, problem-solver, and analytical

- Excellent communication skills (written & verbal)  

- Advanced Excel skills and overall comfortability with Microsoft Office


Experience: 5 to 10 years of experience (Senior Accountant, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager)

Compensation: $100,000 – $120,000
