We have partnered with a Coppell TX client to find an Accounting Assistant (entry-level) to interview and start with us as soon as possible for a contract to hire role paying $18hr starting. If someone has A/P experience or some sort of prior accounting experience that is a plus, however, it is not a requirement.
We are looking for an Accounting Assistant to perform daily accounting administrative tasks that will support our financial team.
Shift hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm
Hire terms: Temporary / possibly Temp-to-Hire
Pay range: $15.00/hr.-$18.00/hr., depending on experience
Accounting Assistant responsibilities include managing assigned reports, entering financial transactions into our internal databases and reconciling invoices/other related documents. If you have administrative skills within an office/accounting office setting and are interested in gaining additional experience that’s focused on finance & accounting operations, then we’d like to meet you ASAP! Ultimately, you will help our accounting department run smoothly, ensuring transparency and efficiency in all transactions.
Scanning important documents. Dealing with heavy volume paperwork sifting, sorting, and scanning.
Once scanned, this person may also help load & manage the electronic filings for the accounting department.
Identifying discrepancies with provided documents/files and reporting them/fixing them accordingly.
Possibly assisting with necessary reporting / managing spreadsheets for the accounting team.
Reconciling assigned invoices
Create and update assigned reports
Enter financial transactions into internal databases
Check assigned spreadsheets for accuracy and report errors accordingly
Maintain digital and physical financial records
Issue invoices to customers and external partners, as assigned
Review and file payroll documents
Participate/assist with quarterly and annual audits
Office administration experience is a must
Work experience as an Accounting Assistant, Accounting Clerk, or Accounts Payables Clerk is a huge plus, especially if someone has handled A/P functions specifically.
Knowledge of basic bookkeeping procedures a plus.
Familiarity with finance regulations a plus.
Good math skills and the ability to spot numerical errors preferred.
Hands-on experience with MS Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) highly preferred but not required.
Organization skills are extremely important
Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information
Must have strong data entry skills
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
Must be comfortable with MS Office applications
Must be able to work fast paced and with a high attention to detail
