Accounting and Administrative Specialist


We are looking for an experienced Accounting Clerk for a Temp to Hire opportunity in Newport Kentucky. This position is responsible for processing and paying vendor invoices in a timely manner (Accounts Payable).  This involves matching invoices up to statements and requesting any missing invoices before the end of the month.  Additionally, he or she is responsible for applying customers’ payments correctly to their accounts upon receipt (Accounts Receivable). The ideal candidate will have at least 2-3 years of recent experience along with a willingness to help in various areas that might not be on the job description.


This is Temp to Hire and will pay between $17 and $19/hr. depending on experience.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Process vendor invoices
  • Process customer payments
  • Assist with weekly check runs
  • File paperwork
  • Assist with 1099s
  • Field incoming calls from both customers and vendors
  • Assist management in preparing cost-analysis and other spreadsheets
  • Special projects and assignments by management as needed

  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Experience with Microsoft Publisher preferred but not required
