Accounting Principals is partnering with a leading, global finance company to recruit a Staff Accountant for a contract role based in San Francisco. Ideally, you have at least 2 years of general ledger, accounting experience.  You also have familiarity working with foreign currency transactions and be well versed in NetSuite. Ideally, you are detail-oriented, self-motivated, a team player with working knowledge of GAAP, IFRS and internal controls.

 

Currently this is a remote opportunity.  However, our client is transitioning back to a more-traditional, in-office workplace model.  You will work inside the company’s Downtown San Francisco headquarters 3 days per week beginning in November 2021.  You will work within walking distance of BART, Muni, the Ferry Building, and the SalesForce Transit Center.

 

PRIMARY DUITES

 

  • Perform month-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries and reconciliations for various balance sheet and income statement accounts including loan and other receivables, intercompany, deferred revenue, security deposits, and operating lease revenue
  • Understand relevant financial information from lease agreements/lease summaries
  • Assist in invoice coding and submit to Accounts Payable
  • Perform trend analysis on income statement and balance sheet accounts and ensure all significant fluctuations are properly explained and supported
  • Support the external reporting team on audit support documentation, respond to audit inquiries and ensure timeliness of yearend audit deliverables
  • Partner with cross functional teams including Finance, Tax, Legal, IT, and Technical Accounting
  • Assist with process improvements and automate manual processes to achieve efficiency and scalability
  • Assist in implementing new accounting policies and procedures
  • Ad hoc accounting requests as needed

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business-related field or equivalent is required
  • 2-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • CPA/Public accounting experience preferred and IFRS experience a plus
  •  

    PREFERRED EXPERIENCE & TALENTS

  • Detailed understanding and ability to work with multiple entities (90+).
  • 2-3 years of combined public accounting and industry experience
  • Strong understanding of intercompany relationships; accounting, consolidations, and eliminations
  • Experience with lease accounting, both operating and finance leases
  • Manage multiple responsibilities
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team and suggest improvements to various processes
  • Eagerness to learn and willingness to take on new challenges
  • Ability to adhere to deadlines in a fast-paced environment without losing accuracy
  • Strong problem solving, analytical, and communication (both verbal and written) skills
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft applications (Excel, Word) is required
  • Experience in NetSuite and Adaptive Insights is a plus!
