Of Accounting Principals, managing director Jennifer Dodge says "We're a company of standards, not rules. There are certain standards and certain metrics that define what getting the job done is. That’s constant and consistent no matter what scenario."

It's these standards that helped distinguish Accounting Principals as one of the 2020 Best Places to Work in Virginia. To gain this notoriety, Accounting Principals credits the "open communication on our team — we're very collaborative," Dodge says. "Everybody kind of pitches in. It’s definitely collaborative where we solicit ideas from the team all the time about what could make this a better place to work." This collaborative nature impacts retention numbers and company morale, as Accounting Principals boasts long tenure not typical of the professional staffing industry.

For Accounting Principals, it's not just the structured training, warm welcome, and cultural onboarding practices that make it a great place to work. The results of the two-part survey to determine the Best Places to Work in Virginia, showed that Accounting Principals performed well in the following categories: workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. The second part of the survey measured the employee experience and is worth approximately 75% of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined that Accounting Principals stands as one of the top companies in the final rankings.

"Everyone just kind of blends well," Dodge says. "It's not like little different groups of people. The tenured people always take the brand-new people under their wings and mentor them and just welcome them into the family right away."
